Communicating Your Research | Training for Graduate Students
To ensure that communication of science and research to the lay public is effective and has a positive impact on society, researchers need to acquire certain skills. More and more, researchers find themselves addressing a wide audience, and must ensure that the message is clear, coherent, and relevant. Science Communication seminars are now included in the PhD Academy as part of the transversal skills training.
SMACH | Capacity Building in Sustainable Management of Cultural Heritage
We are facing a challenge: to protect our past for future generations. Climate change is affecting natural heritage, human life, and our cultural heritage. On October 15, 2021, VIU hosted a high-level workshop of the EU-Balkan cooperation project in which the partners exchanged needs analyses and best practices and addressed the development of a know-how exchange program.
Climate Proofing in Investments and Spatial Planning
The unprecedented threat of climate change is posing a severe risk to human activities, due to the increasing frequency and magnitude of extreme events. VIU is carrying out research defining a Socio‐Economic Regional Risk Assessment (SERRA) for the Belluno Province in partnership with Enel Foundation, and the Euro‐Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC).

Defining the Human in Environmental Humanities | Call for papers
