Tea2b: Modern War (open to all)

Many conflicts are raging worldwide, each with a complex story. In light of the recent US-Israeli attacks on Iran, we will be joined by Prof. Lesaffer for a Q&A session and discussion on the war in Iran, as well as other conflicts.
Tea2B is an opportunity for professors and students to discuss several topics in a friendly environment. Open to all students and faculty. With tea and biscuits!
Day trip to Vicenza (S2604, S2617)
Friday, March 20, 10 am - 4 pm
This co-curricular activity is an integral part of the courses S2604 Art and Architecture in Renaissance Venice and S2617 Public Renaissance and is therefore strongly recommended and sponsored by VIU for enrolled students. However, note that enrolled students must confirm their participation by signing up on the list by Wednesday, March 18, 12pm, at the Front Office.
Participants need to purchase the train ticket on their own. VIU will reimburse the cost of the regional train ticket (15€) for students enrolled after the trip, upon presentation of the ticket at the Front Office.
For non enrolled students interested in joining, the participation fee is 5€ to pay at the moment of registration (the exact fee in cash).
Participants will receive further information the day before the visit.
Visit to neighborhoods of Venice Metropolitan City - Quartiere Altobello (S2618)
Friday, March 20, 2 - 5pm
In this field trip, students will be guided through the area of Altobello (Mestre), exploring its urban design and everyday-life landscapes, as well as the broader urban contexts that are often overlooked by mainstream imagery of Venice, which typically focuses on tourist attractions or architectural and art history.
This co-curricular activity is an integral part of the course S2618 Inhabiting Urban Space and Sense of Place and is therefore strongly recommended for enrolled students. However, note that enrolled students must confirm their participation by signing up on the list by Wednesday, March 18, 12pm, at the Front Office.
Some places may be available to interested non-enrolled students. Participants will receive further information about the meeting time and point the day before the visit.

Tuesday, March 17, 8 pm
The Italian professors Massimo, Laura, and Carola propose to attend the football match Venezia vs Padova. Tickets can be purchased at Campo S. Apostoli starting from Thursday, March 12, 3 PM, or online VENEZIA - PADOVA
Please note: women are offered a 50% discount, but the ticket must be purchased exclusively at the SS Apostoli Store, Campo S.S. Apostoli, Cannaregio, Venice.
In order to sit together, we should buy tickets in the Distinti Solesin Laterali DL1 or DL2 section of the stadium. The meeting point will be at 7:00 PM in front of the Naval History Museum at the Arsenale.

The Venice Universities Model European Union is a simulation of the EU legislative procedure. The participants will adopt the roles of the members of the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the European Union, following the steps of the ordinary legislative procedure by which directives and regulations are adopted. Applications are accepted until March 23.
