from China
PhD student in Environmental Science and Engineering
Cai shared insights about VIU academics and her life in Venice in an interview, as a Globalization Program student.
“Every time I think about some questions, I answer in a narrative way. But when I answer the question here, at VIU class, the professor asked me whether the answer is related to my daily life, and it made me think a lot. It is quite different for me and helped me a lot to reflect on the life and the world, not only academic life.”
“I think I have broaden my horizons, not only in a narrative Chinese education system, I can have more perspectives to think about some questions, and I think I have been more flexible and brave, and confident.”
“I think my favorite thing is the relationship between people, like professors in class are all very kind, the people at the Front Office, Miriam helped me a lot, my roomies from different countries, Germany, England, we have such a great relationship.”
