The Fall 2019 list of courses has been subject to changes until very recently and the final list with descriptions and syllabi is now available online in the Courses section.
We invite you to thoroughly check it: some new courses have been added while others have been re-assigned, thus partly changing their contents according the interests and field of study of the professors.
Following these changes we are also happy to welcome the first professor from Ljubljana University, prof. Simona Kustec, who will come to VIU to teach two courses: "Global Governance for Peace and Security, Cooperation and Development" and "Cultural Management (Issues and Methodology of Cultural Management and Policy Analysis)".
The semester will feature the specialization track on Economics and Technology applied to Cultural Heritage, that gives students with a background in the Social Sciences the opportunity to acquire skills that will be useful in developing careers in this field, training among others in economics, law and management of the arts, art and architecture in Venice and world heritage sites. Over 100 students from all over the world are expected to take courses on Venice and Italy, Cultures of the World and Global Challenges in the 15-week program.
The courses are interdisciplinary and are structured as seminars so as to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among students from different academic and cultural backgrounds.
All students registered in degree programs at one of VIU's Member Universities are eligible to apply for the Globalization Program.
Courses are recognized for credit by the students' home universities.
