Concert at VIU for the Festival for the Sustainable Development
Closing Ceremony of the Spring Semester of the Globalization Program

On the occasion of the Closing Ceremony of the 2017 Spring Semester of the Globalization Program (which focuses on Sustainable Development), VIU’s international students and local community are invited to the concert/performance Emotion for Change.
Conceived for the Paris COP21-UN climate change conference by Sara Michieletto, first violin at the Venice Opera House La Fenice, the event aims at raising awareness of Climate Change through music, and to inspire people to undertake concrete actions in their daily life.
The concert is part of a new VIU initiative on “Arts and Sciences” which addresses sustainable development through the arts with meetings with artists such as musicians, performers, visual artists.
162 students of 27 nationalities joined the VIU 2017 Spring Semester, under the guidance of 26 international professors selected from the 17 universities that form Venice International University.
During the Closing Ceremony Prof. Carlo Giupponi, Dean of Venice International University and Prof. Luca Pes, Globalization Program Scientific Director and Vice Dean, will thank all students and professors who took part in the Spring 2017 term and will announce the Awards for Academic Excellence and the winners of Scholarships for an internship in Italy.

This event is part of the rich program of "Festival for Sustainable Development", organized from May 22 to June 7, 2017 by ASviS (Alleanza Italiana per lo sviluppo sostenibile), of which VIU is one of the 142 members, to raise awarness of the Agenda 2030 and to realize its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
