Venice International University is the Data Controller for your information.

This Data Protection notice explains how we use your personal data and your rights regarding that information.
By submitting the registration form, you agree that VIU, the event organizer, may collect and use your personal information for the purpose of managing your participation in the event.

What information are we collecting?
We will collect the personal information you provide in the registration form (for example: your name, contact details, affiliation, session choices, and dietary or accessibility needs).

Why are we collecting your data?
Venice International University needs to collect and process your personal information for organizational and administrative purposes related ot the event for which you are registering.

How we use your information?
Your information will be used only for conference-related purposes, such as:
− Processing your registration
− Organizing sessions and logistics
− Communicating important event updates
− Managing catering, accommodation, or accessibility requests

Your personal information will be stored securely and accessed only by authorized members of the organizing team. We will not share your data with third parties, except when required for essential event logistics (for example, with San Servolo Servizi Metropolitani for accommodation request, caterers for dietary requests, or Italian Embassies if a visa invitation letter is requested).

Photos and recordings
The conference may include photography or video recording. By attending, you consent to the possible use of these materials for event reporting and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in photos or recordings, please let us know at data.protection@univiu.org.

How long is your information kept for?
We must store your personal data for as long as necessary to meet VIU responsibilities. For conference activities, this period is indicatively 12 months.

What are your rights and how to enforce them?
The following are your rights that are guaranteed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation, which comes in to effect on May 25, 2018.
