Participants in the 1st call for staff will assume the roles of the members of the European Commission, President of the European Parliament, President of the Council of the EU, Vice-President for the Council of the EU, Vice-President for the European Parliament, Secretary for the Parliament and Secretary for the Council.
All selected staff members will receive appropriate training in preparation for the performance of their respective roles.
In addition, a 2nd call for staff is open for the following positions: Social Media Manager, EUNOW Editor-in-Chief, EUNOW Vice Editor-in-Chief, Parliament Press Coordinator, and Council Press Coordinator.
Below you will find the eligibility criteria and a brief description of each position:
1st CALL FOR STAFF
-Commissioner
2 open positions
During the event, work will primarily focus on two directives; it is the task of the commissioners to study one intensively in order to clarify and advise on the directive for the duration of the event. Additionally, each commissioner must summarize and incorporate their directive into the study guide and elaborate on it during the workshop. During the event, the commissioners will analyze and, where appropriate, revise the position papers submitted by the participants.
Spec. criteria evaluated upon: Experience and knowledge on legislature; specifically, EU- and international law (courses, certifications, experiences).
-President of the EU Council
The president of the EU Council naturally chairs the debates in the council and ensures they run smoothly. Additionally, they will present an opening speech, work on parts of the study guide, select and divide participants into different factions. They will also have a role during the workshop presenting several matters such as the rules of conduct. During both the workshop and the main event, the president should be ready to clarify any issues amongst the council and keep the peace.
Spec. criteria evaluated upon: Any experiences with previous MUN’s or MEU’s; experience chairing conferences or guiding debates.
-President of the EU Parliament
The president of the EU Parliament naturally chairs the debates in the parliament and ensures they run smoothly. Additionally, they will present an opening speech, work on parts of the study guide, select and divide participants into different factions. They will also have a role during the workshop presenting several matters such as the rules of conduct. During both the workshop and the main event, the president should be ready to clarify any issues amongst the parliament and keep the peace.

-Secretary of the EU Council
The Secretary of the EU Council follows the debates in the Council by timing them, ensuring they run smoothly, and that the set limits are respected. Additionally, the Secretary will assist in the opening, work on parts of the study guide, and also select and divide participants into different factions. The Secretary will also have a role during the workshop presenting several matters such as the rules of conduct. During both the workshop and the main event, the Secretary should be ready to clarify any issues amongst the Council and keep the peace.

-Secretary of the EU Parliament
The Secretary of the EU Parliament follows the debates in the Parliament by timing them and ensuring they run smoothly. 2nd CALL FOR STAFF
-Social Media Manager
The Social Media Manager will work with the organizers to publicize the event on social media. They will have a hand in the promotion and gain access to the proper resources for their tasks. They are expected to make regular posts on the event and enhance its visibility.
Spec. criteria evaluated upon: Experience and knowledge of social media and the algorithm. Any knowledge and experiences related to marketing and promotion is an added bonus as well.
-EUNOW Editor in Chief
The Editor in Chief coordinates the Press Team under every aspect, organizing their work and dividing the tasks between the team autonomously. The Editor in Chief organizes the coordinators of the Council and the Parliament who are responsible for editing the articles, following and guiding the journalists of the Council and Parliament respectively.
Spec. criteria evaluated upon: Experience in writing and editing roles, strong communication skills, ability to manage a team of writers, strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
-EUNOW Vice-Editor in Chief
The Vice-Editor in Chief contributes to the Press Team by helping with the final editing of the articles and taking care of the final layout of the daily issues. They work mostly during the night so that the EUNOW issue is ready to be sent in the morning before the beginning of the plenary sessions.

-Parliament Press Coordinator
The Press coordinators of the Council and the Parliament are responsible for editing the articles, following and guiding the journalists of the Council and Parliament respectively.

-Council Press Coordinator
The Press coordinators of the Council and the Parliament are responsible for editing the articles, following and guiding the journalists of the Council and Parliament respectively.

Opportunity for validation of VeUMEU as internship
If the student applying for the previously mentioned positions is currently enrolled in:
● Philosophy, International and Economic Studies [LTR6];
● Comparative International Relations [LM52R];
participation at the VeUMEU can be validated as 6 CFU of internship by presenting the Certificate of Participation and the Modulo per Riconoscimento Attività Sostitutive di Tirocinio to the Internship Coordinator.
If the student is enrolled in one of the following courses:
● Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts Management [FT1];
● Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities [EMR3];
● History of Arts and Conservation of Artistic Heritage [FMR9];
● Social Sciences and Social Work [FTR4];

Participation as staff for the VeUMEU can be validated as 3 CFU of internship by presenting the Certificate of Participation and the Modulo per Riconoscimento Attività Sostitutive di Tirocinio
to the Internship Coordinator. Students of other courses should ask their Internship Coordinator to assess the possibility of internship validation.
NB: Every candidate must possess advanced proficiency in English, availability for both the workshop and the dates of the event itself and lastly be willing to cooperate with the team and respect its deadlines.
The selection will be made by the Directors. The candidates are strongly encouraged to submit a CV explaining why they would be the perfect candidate for the role, mentioning experiences with Models and other relevant experiences or skills.
