VIU can support students who will attend a semester of the Globalization Program in the research, confirmation and papers management for accommodation off campus.
There are apartments available in the city center for a total of 26 places for students. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

VIU organizes the rental of several apartments in Venice through real estate agencies, for 4 to a 6 students each, in twin rooms.
Men and women students will live together in the apartments, although multiple rooms will be divided by gender. All students will share bathrooms. 
Nationalities will be mixed as much as possible, depending on the number of students from each member university.

Costs:
1625 Euro per student/semester (prices valid since Spring 2014), to be paid in full, non refundable.
The cost also includes the agency commission and VAT, contract registration and apartment block administration, whereas utilities and cleaning are not included and are at the student's expenses. 
A deposit equivalent to one month's rent (480 Euro cc, depending on each apartment) will be required when you check in and will be refunded on departure unless there has been any damage to the apartment.

To confirm accommodation in apartments:
Accommodation is conseidered confirmed at signature of the Accommodation agreement and payement reception (as indicated in the instructions received by e-mail). As a confirmation for your reservation, you must send back the proof of payment no later than 10 days after receiving the email.
N.B. Students from Duke and Tsinghua universities must inform their home university office of their choice as payment is made directly by their university (utilities and cleaning are not included).

• The apartments are supplied with a fully equipped kitchen;
• A washing machine will be available in every apartment;
• Linens, towels and blankets are provided;
• No pets are allowed in the apartments;
• Smoking is strictly prohibited in the apartments, including your own room;
• Noise levels should be kept to a minimum, especially after 10 pm out of respect for your neighbours

Deadlines for application for accommodation:

Fall semesters: May 31 (extended to June 5 for Fall 2017 term)
Spring semesters: November 30
