Research
- TeDIS Center - Innovation and Competitiveness in the Global Economy
The TeDIS Center was founded in 1999 and has continued to grow and is now cooperating with several international institutions on the following research topics: industrial districts, ICT, globalization, design and logistics.
- TEN Center - Environmental Management and Sustainable Development
The TEN Center, Thematic Environmental Networks, was founded in 2003. The Center promotes education and advanced training programs on sustainable development and environmental management and develops research activities on the main areas of environmental protection, with specific focus on developing countries.

Artistic creativity can be a first step towards new training methods, where theory is combined with practical creativity and the semantics of art, providing opportunities to engage and unify, through the discovery of new visions and ideas. Works by several acclaimed international artists are installed at VIU.
