  Virtual Exchange | Intercultural Communication
  student on ipad

The Globalization Program kicks off this week, and Covid-19 notwithstanding, 80 students have registered for the program. The first three weeks will be online, with the students and professors due to arrive at the end of the month for a socially distanced semester. At the heart of the VIU experience is the connection among people, from different places, with different backgrounds, and studying in different disciplinary areas. So we are very pleased to launch this semester the VIU Virtual Exchange, where students will engage in peer-to-peer group discussions on topics relevant to their lives today. The aim is to cultivate global awareness and global competence, and increased social and cultural openness. The project is part of the broader Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange project promoted and supported by the European Commission.

We are all looking forward to returning to on-campus activities, but the past months have led to reflections on new opportunities for technology-enabled teaching. This week we are holding the 4th edition of Critical Infrastructure Resilience which has been reconfigured as a Virtual Summer School with a part-time format over three weeks. The participants will learn to apply a pragmatic framework and tactical decision-making tool for resilience. The tool is actively used by professionals, public authorities, and academics. The course has a scientific approach combined with a hands-on interactive format designed for a multi-disciplinary audience. The School is led by Tor Vergata University of Rome and Ca' Foscari University, and benefits from the scientific support of Enel Foundation.
