	Lectio Magistralis \| September 6, 2022


	On September 5, the Globalization Program begins with the arrival of 100 students from around the world who will choose from a range of 25 courses related to Science and Society, History and Memory, and Cultural Heritage, in addition to the core topics of the program (Italy, Cultures of the World, Global Challenges). The Opening Ceremony will take place on September 6, with a Lectio Magistralis from honored guest, Francesco Rutelli, President of the Italian Association of Digital Audiovisual Cinematographic Industries, and formerly Minister of Culture of Italy from 2006 to 2008. 	VIU Staff Training Week \| EU Project Management


	The program will offer comprehensive, up-to-date training on European project management. Participants will acquire the techniques and methods that are essential for drafting and presenting projects, with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the project proposals, and their relevance to the scope of EU calls, legislation, and regulations. 	Worldwide Mobility for Research Internships


	VIU is currently accepting applications for Research Internships at member universities worldwide. The opportunity is relevant for VIU students who are writing a thesis for their Master's degree or 4-year Bachelor degree. Destinations include Waseda University, Tsinghua University, Duke University, Boston College, Tel Aviv University. Information session: Tuesday, September 6. 	Erasmus+ Funding Awarded to VIU Consortium


	VIU has been awarded €200,000 in Erasmus+ funding that will support the exchange of students, professors and staff among VIU's member universities up to 2025. €125,000 is earmarked for an articulated project with Stellenbosch University, that joined VIU in 2019, while €65,000 is destined to support exchanges with European University at St. Petersburg. €10,000 will support grants for students traveling to VIU members in the European Union for a semester of study. Last Call | Propose New Intensive Graduate Activities
In the Intensive Graduate Activities at VIU students develop a forward-looking vision, while tackling transversal topics and collaborating with peers from all over the world. We are currently accepting proposals from scholars in the member universities for new activities that will take place in late 2023 (October-December) and 2024. The deadline is September 15, 2022.
