Founded in 1995 by five pioneering universities, Venice International University has grown into a truly global community - more than twenty institutions united by a commitment to international, interdisciplinary, and intercultural exchange in learning and research.
It is thanks to all of you that this shared journey has become such a success.
As we mark VIU’s 30th Anniversary, we celebrate not only its remarkable growth but also the founding spirit that made it possible: dialogue, understanding, and shared purpose in a rapidly changing world.
Join us in Venice for three days of conversations, academic discussions, and encounters, to reflect on the path we have taken and to shape together the vision that will guide VIU into its next thirty years.

Guiding Transitions International Conference
Thursday, November 27-28, 2025
The conference will open a forum for discussion and case-based analysis, exploring how Higher Education Institutions can equip students with the skills and competencies to navigate changes in four spheres:
- Transition in Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence
- Structural Inequalities Within and Across Societies
- Ecology and the Environment
- Cities in Transition
The Conference is open to scholars working on these topics, higher education experts and practitioners, both from member institutions of Venice International University and beyond, encouraging a collaborative exploration of today’s most pressing transitions.

Alumni & Friends of VIU Dinner
Thursday, November 27, 2025, 7.30 pm
with music performed by UNIPD Big Band, the Jazz Orchestra of the University of Padova
Conference participants, VIU alumni, and friends are invited to an evening of reunion, conversation, and networking. Attendees will have the opportunity to reconnect, share memories, and enjoy live music performed by the University of Padova Big Band.
