The project has published the cross-border action plan for improving maritime and multimodal freight transport. The plan includes guidelines, priority measures, and KPIs that will be tested in pilot actions starting in September. This cross border strategy was developed through the analysis of best practices in ICT tools and policies, territorial needs assessments, and training opportunities for the project partners.
VIU's Sustainable Logistics unit continues to achieve success in EU-funded projects. This new project kicked off July 6, 2020, and will implement a model of cross-border planning for environmental sustainability and port energy efficiency.
VIU coordinated the 7 action plans to improve sustainability and to reduce carbon emissions in ports in the Adriatic-Ionian area. The transnational project has created a network of low-carbon ports committed to introducing solutions for a greener, safer, and more efficient transport system in port areas.
The effects of the Covid-19 crisis are still influencing many aspects of our everyday lives. Although there are is still uncertainty hovering over the coming months, the education sector is proving to be resilient. The VIU staff is working hard to ensure that the next semester of the Globalization Program is as much as possible as it used to be, but with added flexibility for students and professors, while introducing innovation to the teaching.

KU Leuven Graduate Spirit Project Triple-I training: the project provides an inventory of best practices in graduate schools with respect to PhD candidates, staff, curriculum and organisation. In addition, the project tested a number of innovations regarding the three I's: international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral doctoral training. The project is an Erasmus+ funded strategic partnership. Read more
