Tuesday, December 5, 12.30 - 2 pm, Room 5X
On December 4-5, Climate Reality and former US Vice President Al Gore are presenting the global broadcast event 24 Hours of Reality: Be the Voice of Reality.
Featuring an all-star lineup of celebrated thought leaders, political icons, artists, scientists, and more, Be the Voice of Reality will travel the globe for 24 straight hours with thought-provoking conversations, rousing musical performances, and inspiring stories about the climate activists who are creating practical solutions to the climate crisis.
VIU is hosting a watch party for this broadcast and inviting students and professors who are concerned about climate change to watch a segment of the program together and join millions worldwide in urging leaders to take action.
This year’s broadcast comes at a critical time for our climate. In the year since the landmark Paris Agreement entered into force, the world has seen significant developments that both advance and jeopardize our progress on climate action. However, where government leaders have retreated from the climate fight, citizens have stepped up to push for practical solutions. The broadcast will highlight these voices and share inspiring stories of political, business, and personal activism that illustrate how we can all make a difference, right when our planet needs us most.
Join us on Tuesday, December 5 @ 12.30 pm Room 5X for the VIU Climate Reality Watch Party.
