Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP)
The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP, former SEPA) aims at formulating environmental protection guideline, policy and law. MEP collaborates with IMELS (Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, formerly known as IMET) in the "Sino-Italian Cooperation Program for Environmental Protection". Under this program, both parties commit themselves to develop pilot projects, technology aid and joint investment in the environmental protection area about many issues: ecology protection, renewable energy, urban sustainable transportation, energy conservation and energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture etc.
