Grand Challenges of Sustainability Science Workshop. October 20-22, 2006. Twenty world experts on sustainability science will meet at VIU's TEN Center to discuss the principal challenges of research, training and capacity-building facing the rapidly emerging field of sustainability science. The goal is to encorage connections and synergies among a series of related initiatives linking science and technology with sustainability concerns that are now taking shape under the leadership of workshop participants. The workshop is sponsored by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea.
