September 18 - 22, 2006. Course for Sustainability Module 5

The III edition of the Course for Sustainability: strategies, methodologies, policies and actions for Central and Eastern Europe is nearing to its conclusion. The fifth and final module will be held at VIU (September 18-22, 2006) and will gather again in Venice the 50 government officials selected from various agencies of central and eastern Europe including ministries of environment, water, energy, education, health, finance and the interior, and from national institutes and regional development agencies.

The module will be dedicated to strengthening individual skills and capacity to promoting SD policies by understanding the link between lessons learned during the course and real practice.

The Course will close with a panel discussion, in which Agnieszka Bolesta, Undersecretary of State of the Polish Ministry of the Environment, Timo Makela of the European Commission, Brigita Schmögnerová of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Borbala Czako of the Price Waterhouse Coopers will debate with participants on “The Role of Governments in Putting Sustainability into Practice”.

Corrado Clini, Director General of the Department for Environmental Research and Development of the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea will lead the Graduation Ceremony.
