July 3 - 6, 2007. VIU at the Sino-Italian Green Week, Beijing

In the first week of July, VIU President Umberto Vattani and TEN Center President Ignazio Musu participated in the Sino-Italian Green Week in Beijing. The Green Week was organized by the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory (IMET) to celebrate the sixth year of Sino-Italian cooperation in the field of Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development. The Italian delegation was led by the Italian Minister for the Environment Alfonso Pecorario Scanio and included Corrado Clini, IMET Director General and VIU President Umberto Vattani (also President of the Italian Trade Commission). VIU was represented also by TEN Center President Ignazio Musu and former VIU Dean Paolo Costa.

September 18 - 22, 2006. Course for Sustainability Module 5

The III edition of the Course for Sustainability: strategies, methodologies, policies and actions for Central and Eastern Europe is nearing to its conclusion. The fifth and final module will be held at VIU (September 18-22, 2006) and will gather again in Venice the 50 government officials selected from various agencies of central and eastern Europe including ministries of environment, water, energy, education, health, finance and the interior, and from national institutes and regional development agencies.

September 24 - 26, 2006. Course for Sustainability Alumni Seminar

The first Course for Sustainability Alumni Seminar will be held September 24-26, 2006 at VIU and will be open to 25 alumni selected among the participants in the I and II editions of the Course for Sustainability.

October 20 - 22, 2006. Harvard University and TEN Center workshop addresses the grand challenges of sustainability science

Grand Challenges of Sustainability Science Workshop. October 20-22, 2006. Twenty world experts on sustainability science will meet at VIU's TEN Center to discuss the principal challenges of research, training and capacity-building facing the rapidly emerging field of sustainability science. The goal is to encorage connections and synergies among a series of related initiatives linking science and technology with sustainability concerns that are now taking shape under the leadership of workshop participants. The workshop is sponsored by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea.

Sino-Italian Comparative Studies on Sustainable Development Workshop Agenda

 

Joint Workshop on Sino-Italian Comparative Studies on Sustainable Development at TEN Center, 16-17 April, 2007

TEN Center held a joint workshop on Sino-Italian Comparative Studies on Sustainable Development in cooperation with Tsinghua University and SSAV – School for Advanced Studies in Venice. Professors and researchers from Italy and China addressed critical issues of Sustainable Development: water, air and soil pollution and waste and polluted site management.

June 4-5 2007. European Dialogue on the Energy and Climate Challenge

CCAP and IDDRI organize the second European Climate and Energy Dialogue with the support of the IMELS and the collaboration of the TEN Center.

“Sustainability in Practice” module is scheduled from 9th to 13th July 2007 at San Servolo Island, Venice

 

September 15, 2007. Forum NATURA

Distiguished Italian scientists will meet at VIU's TEN Center on September 15, 2007, to discuss about the Nature concept.
