In 2003, Venice International University inaugurated the Sustainable Development and Environmental Management Advanced Training Program, addressed to governmental officials, professors, researchers, managers, engineers and experts from the People’s Republic of China and Central and Eastern European Countries.
The Advanced Training Program is a long-term project that focuses on the role of managers who will be active and responsible for a global approach to sustainable development and environmental protection.
The training courses are structured as a set of one or two-week modules. Each module concentrates on a specific field of study. Comprehensively they cover a broad spectrum of topics: Water Pollution, Waste Management, Energy Efficiency, Urban Sustainable Development and Eco-building, Air Pollution & ITS, Sustainable Agriculture, Rural Development and Resources, Environmental Policy, Clean Development Mechanism, Ecological Industrial Development and Policy and Governance of Sustainable Development, Environmental Education, Marine Protection. Trainees examine theoretical issues and case studies.
The Program is divided into two sections.
