The Unit develops its activities at regional, national and international level in the field of education and scientific and applied research. Staff is based on a mix of academic, operational and consultant specialized competencies.
In the educational field, TLSU promotes initiatives such as:
_
first-level Master in Logistics and Transport, organized by the Università Iuav di Venezia in cooperation with the Università di Trieste and Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia
_
International Degree in Global Economy and Logistics, jointly promoted by the Università Iuav di Venezia and the Universita di Trieste, the Institute of Tecnology of Carlow (Ireland) and the Hellenic Institute of Transport.
_
short courses on logistics, transport and supply chain in cooperation with AILOG
In the field of scientific research, TLSU:
_
supports doctoral level programmes, in particular the Doctoral Programme in Logistics, Transport, Environment and Energy jointly organized by the Università Iuav di Venezia and the Università di Trieste
_
holds the Chair of SETREF (South-East European Transport Research Forum), the South East European Transport Forum is an international non-governmental non-profit association of organisations devoted to the promotion of transport research and/or education, based in South East European countries.
_
cooperates with university laboratories and entities, in particular with the Transport Research Laboratory of the Planning Department of the Università Iuav di Venezia and with the NITEL Consortium (National Inter-university Consortium on Transport and Logistics).
In the field of applied research, TLSU:
_
is the North-Eastern partner, along with ISTIEE of Trieste, of the National Observatory on Logistcs, promoted by ISFORT in Rome
_
is the scientific centre of excellence of the Italian Association of Logistics (AILOG), an association comprising all major companies related to the demand and supply of logistics in Italy
_
is a scientific centre for the Institute of Foreign Trade (ICE) of the Ministry of Productive Activities with special focus on globalization issues of productive and logistics systems
_
acts as consultant for public bodies (Regions, COSES, etc.) on the issue of logistics and transport systems planning at local and regional level
_
develops and coordinates researches on transport issues and sustainability in cooperation with other research entities (CORILA, etc.)
