Subsidiarity Report 2006

The “common good” is not appointed by the national power, but the Country has the duty to guarantee it, by promoting free personal expression, not as an “abstraction” but as a dynamic concept, within its own multiplicity of social relationships. (Giorgio Vittadini in “Sussidiarietà ed educazione” - Rapporto sulla sussidiarietà 2006)

The Research on “Subsidiarity and Education” has been conducted by the Fondazione per la Sussidiarietà during 2006 on a sample of 3,216 interviews of families, institutions and companies.

On the track for work which their statements may suggest to politics in this sector at a local, regional and national level, ICeSD and Provincia di Venezia had promoted on 25th of May a meeting between the authors of this research and the institutional summits of education. Among teachers, experts and parents, about 300 people participated at this congress organized at the “Auditorium della Provincia” at Mestre.

Subsidiarity Report 2007

The Subsidiarity Report 2007 "Subsidiarity and Institutional Reforms", edited by "Fondazione per la Sussidiarietà", examined a crucial area of contemporary life in Italy: institutional reforms. The research concentrated on citizens' expectations, pointing out that reforms should serve the people, the citizens. During the presentation of the report, great importance was given to the reality of northeastern regions, emerging from the statements collected in this area of Italy.

From this point of view, the Subsidiarity Report 2007 offers a precious tool for politicians, contributing to guide their choices in a time of reforms designed to fulfil people's expectations. Subsidiarity should represent a compass and a guiding principle in this task.

ICeSD-Reserch Center and "Fondazione Triveneto" organized on 29th of Febbruary at the "Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista" in Venice the official presentation of the report, inviting the authors of the research, representatives of local and regional institutions and bodies, journalists and politicians to a debate about reforms and federalism.
