Yadh Ben Achour

Tunisian specialist of the Islam history and juridical rules, he is professor and former Dean at the Faculty of law, political science and social sciences, University de Tunis II. He is also Founding Member of Académie Internationale de Droit Constitutionel de Tunis and former Member of Conseil Constitutionel.
He is the author of several publications, including: La Cour européenne des droits de l'Homme et la liberté de religion,  Edition Bruylant, Bruxelles, 2005, Les civilisations dans le système international, Edition Bruylant, Bruxelles, 2003, Conscience et droit : L’esprit civique et les droits modernes, Casablanca, éd. Rachid Benzine

Born in Morocco, he grew up in France in a religious Muslim family. Since 2006 he teaches Koranic hermeneutic for the Master of Religion and Society at the Institut d’Etudes politiques d’Aix en Provence. He is a member of the editorial board of Le Monde des Religions, a magazine associated with the leading French daily Le Monde.

Rachid Benzine has co-authored two books with Father Christian Delorme: Nous avons tant de choses à nous dire. Chrétiens et musulmans, Albin Michel, Paris, 1998 and Les banlieues de Dieu, Bayard, Paris, 1998 which deals with immigration, integration, Islam and inter-religious dialogue.
Les Nouveaux penseurs de l’Islam, Albin Michel, Paris, 2004 is Benzine's latest book. It has been published in Italy with the title Nuovi pensatori dell’Islam, Editrice Pisani, Frosinone, 2004.


Mustapha Cherif

Algerian philosopher and professor at the Faculty of political sciences and information, University of Alger since 1982. Professor at lnstitut d’Etudes Diplomatiques et de Relations Internationales, Alger since 2003. He founded the University of Continuous Education in Algeria, was Algerian Ambassador to Egypt and Minister of Higher Education.

Abd-al-Haqq Ismaïl Guiderdoni 

Astrophysicist at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique - CNRS, France, specialist on the formation of galaxies, he works on several large European satellite projects, and studies the evolution of far away galaxies.
Director of the Institut des Hautes Etudes Islamiques, France, which aims at helping European Muslims recover the intellectual dimension of Islam, he has given many lectures on spirituality, the interfaith dialogue, and the relationship between science and religion.
From 1993 to 1999, he appears in the broadcast “Connaître l’Islam - Understanding Islam ” on national French television, France 2. He has published several papers on Islamic theology and mystics in Revue d’Ethique et de Théologie Morale, Chemins de dialogue, L’Actualité des religions.

Hassan Hanafi Hassanien

Professor of Philosophy at Cairo University. In 1966 he attained his PhD in Philosophy at the Université Paris- Sorbonne. He is Vice president of the Arab Philosophical Society since 1983 and since 2001 Vice president of the Arab Federation Philosophical Society.  He is also Visiting Professor since 1971 at the Universities of Tokyo (Japan), Philadelphia, Los Angeles (USA) and Bremen (Germany).

His numerous books are published in French, English and Arabic. Among the titles are: Religious dialogue and revolution, Cairo, 1977 (English), Contemporary issues, 2 vols., Cairo, 1977 (Arabic), Tradition and Modernism, Cairo, 1980 (Arabic), From dogma to revolution, 5 vols.
