EMS 2006. Introduction to Entrepreneurship

In 2006 ICeSD presented the first Euro-Mediterranean School “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” course, which took place from May 15 to July 28, 2006 at VIU's campus on San Servolo Island.

Brochure

The course trained young managers who intend pursuing entrepreneurial initiatives in countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
 
The course subjects are categorized under 4 themes:
 
 Economics and Business
The Economy of the Mediterranean Region's Countries and their relations with the EU and Italy, the Economics of Tourism, the Italian Business System and Industrial Clusters.

 Law
Elements of International Law with references to commercial law, company law, contract law, international Trade and Taxation.

 Management
The Banking System, Financial Intermediation, Venture Capital and Development Issues, The Euromed Partnership Fund, Entrepreneurial Culture and Dynamics, Business Plan Elaboration and Analysis, Internationalization and Marketing Strategies, Distribution and Logistics.

 Policy and Culture
Cross-Cultural Management and Related Issues.
 
Each participant also has the opportunity to carry out a 4-week internship with a company involved in business relations within the North Mediterranean Region or to carry out a market analysis concerning her/his country under the supervision of a member of the Course's Faculty.



For the first Edition of the Euromediterranean School thirty graduates, coming from the North Africa Region and the Middle East, were selected to participate in the program.
