Workshops and seminars are important ancillary activities of TEN, designed to disseminate the knowledge acquired, to further strengthen the network and to initiate new cooperation. In this respect, the TEN center is conceived as a knowledge-sharing platform promoting international dialogue and exchange of know-how on sustainability. In recent years, workshops and seminar activities have focused on Chinese Economy and on the Environmental Security in the European Economic Area. The Environmental Security topic is carried out in close cooperation with the Environmental Legal Team of the University of Siena.
TEN also hosts international seminars and conferences on a variety of topics linked to Sustainable Development and promoted by outstanding institutions. This activity offers the opportunity to establish new contacts and cooperation with important institutions in the field of Sustainable Development.
_Adaptation to the Impacts of Climate Change for Reducing Security in South Eastern Europe (SEE) Workshop In 2011 the TEN center has been granted by the UNEP to develop a research on "International Regulation Implementation for Environmental Security in South Eastern Europe". _Workshop the Chinese Economy (2010) The workshop, organized in collaboration with the Bank of Italy, Fondazione Masi and the Department of Economics of Ca' Foscari University, gathered economists from these institutions for two and a half study days about the recent evolution of Chinese economy and the current and future relationships between China and Italy. >>more _The TEN Center at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 On September 18, 2010, the VIU-TEN Center was involved in one of the events promoted by the Italian Ministry for the Environment Land and Sea and organized in the Italian Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 to celebrate 7 years of the Sino-Italian Cooperation Program for Sustainable Development. >>more _Advanced Research Workshop on International Regulation Implementation for Environmental Security in South-Eastern Europe (2009) Supported by NATO in the frame of the Science for Peace and Security Programme, the Workshop convened at VIU policy makers and experts from NATO and non-NATO countries to discuss the implementation of international regulation for promoting environmental security in South-Eastern Europe. >>more _Workshop on Growth, Trade and Environment: State of Art and Future Research Perspectives (2008) Organized in cooperation with the Advanced Schools of Economics and the Department of Economics of Ca' Foscari University of Venice, the workshop aimed to address key issues in the analysis of trade, growth and environment, trying to establish a link between research areas that have so far been proceeding along partial linkages (trade and environment, growth and environment, growth and trade). >>more |
