150 future Nobel laureates, creative project simulations with the use of artificial intelligence, Intellectual Property and creative thinking: the Alta Scuola Politecnica Summer School at Venice International University.
The Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) is a school founded by the Politecnico di Milano and the Politecnico di Torino. ASP students complement the knowledge achieved in their specific graduate course (Engineering, Architecture or Design) with a multifaceted and rich understanding of innovation processes and contexts. They develop an interdisciplinary attitude to conceive, plan, implement and promote complex innovation projects that produce a sustainable progress in economy, society and culture.
During the Summer School students were divided into teams and faced the simulation of an innovation project: a role-playing game using Lego Minstorm products. The Mindstorm technologies were developed by Lego for adolescents in order to introduce them to artificial intelligence and computer programming, an asset for problem solving, and in this case used to stimulate creative thinking and to understand complex projects dynamics.
After this, students analyzed innovation strategies and management, the defence of Intellectual Property, international controversy cases, copyright and Creative Commons licensing, with case studies presented by international experts such asGary Pisano from Harvard Business School.
