150 future Nobel laureates, creative project simulations with the use of artificial intelligence, Intellectual Property and creative thinking: the Alta Scuola Politecnica Summer School at Venice International University.: 150 young talents from the Alta Scuola Politecnica of the Politecnico di Milano and the Politecnico di Torino attended the Summer School on Management of Innovation at Venice International University from July 30 to August 3, organized in cooperation with VIU, the European Patent Office and the Italian Ministry for Economic Development.
Mobile Journey. Interactive art performances and installations: Joining arts, technology and mobile lifestyle, Mobile Journey is focused on the concept of mobility. Curated by Lorella Scacco, the exhibition displays interactive works conceived by artists and developed together with mobile communication engineers. Invited artists include: Laura Beloff & Erich Berger & Elina Mitrunen, Peter Callesen, Empfanghalle, Globalgroove, Crispin Gurholt, Kalle Laar, Gaston Ramirez Feltrin, Silver & Hanne Rivrud.
Events at VIU in June 2007: On the occasion of the 52nd Biennale Art Exhibition, some collateral events will take place at Venice International University. The opening will take place on June 7 at 5.00 pm.
Nokia Only Planet: Innovating through empathy, un italiano a Helsinki: Stefano Micelli, Dean di Venice International University, con Juha Hemanus, Senior Concept Designer di Nokia e con Tina Gonsalves, artista multimediale, hanno presentato i lavori realizzati durante il workshop organizzato da VIU e NOKIA, che ha coinvolto studenti internazionali e veneziani.
February 22, 2007, 4 pm: Freshman's Fair and Only Planet–Italy through the lens of Mobile Technologies, a workshop organized by VIU and NOKIA: The Joint Undergraduate Program has been developed into the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The activities of the School, including Semester Programs, Intensive Seminars and Summer Programs, will be introduced by the professors to an international audience of students of different nationalities. On the occasion Juha Hemanus, senior concept designer at Nokia, and Tina Gonsalves, a multimedia artist, will present the ONLY PLANET: Italy through the lens of Mobile Technologies workshop, organized by VIU and NOKIA.
22 febbraio ore 16: Inaugurazione Semestre Primaverile 2007 e Italy through the Lens of Mobile Technologies, Only Planet workshop organizzato da VIU and NOKIA: Lo Joint Undergraduate Program di Venice International University si è evoluto nella School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Le attività della scuola, che includono programmi accademici semestrali, seminari intensivi e programmi estivi, verranno presentate dai docenti a una platea internazionale di studenti. In quest’occasione Juha Hemanus, senior concept designer alla Nokia, e Tina Gonsalves, artista multimediale, presenteranno il workshop Italy through the Lens of Mobile Technologies, organizzato da VIU e NOKIA.
VIU LECTURES: Venice and globalization, creativity economy, metropolis, exodus, Venice and New Orleans: VIU LECTURES, an initiative promoted by VIU in collaboration with Marsilio, is a platform for international and local professors to discuss key issues in current debate. The lecture series is open to the public. A reception at the end of every lecture will be the occasion for the participants to continue the debate informally.
VIU LECTURES: Venezia e globalizzazione, economia della creatività, metropoli, esodo, Venezia e New Orleans: Le VIU LECTURES, un’iniziativa aperta al pubblico promossa da VIU in collaborazione con Marsilio, sono una piattaforma di discussione dove professori nazionali e internazionali affrontano con il pubblico questioni chiave del dibattito attuale. Al termine di ogni lecture un rinfresco sarà l’occasione per i partecipanti di approfondire ulteriormente il dibattito in modo informale.

La serata è iniziata con l’apertura del Global Village, che ha presentato piatti da 14 paesi diversi realizzati dagli studenti grazie al contributo dell’associazione AIESEC, e con un magnifico buffet del ristorante ebraico Gam Gam.

End of Semester Party: Venice International University, l'università internazionale che ha sede nell'isola di San Servolo, celebra il decennale con una mostra di grafica e fotografia degli artisti bulgari Boris Missirkov e Georgi Bogdanov, che verrà inaugurata il 15 dicembre alle 18.30 negli spazi dell’università nell’isola. L’inaugurazione darà inizio all’attesa festa di fine semestre, con il concerto dei DiscoFever, le atmosfere lounge, electro house e drum’n’bass dei dj Ravixx(Q) e Place e le performances dei vj di Attualamente/Studioplano.
