The proposal by German students"Good Bye Lenin!", 2003 by Wolfgang Becker, starring Daniel Brühl, Katrin Saβ and Chulpan Khamatova, 121 mins, color, German with English subtitles. In 1990, to protect his fragile mother from a fatal shock after a long coma, a young man must keep her from learning that her beloved nation of East Germany as she knew it has disappeared. European Film Awards Winner 2003.

on Wednesday afternoon: Transcultural Game.
Form a group with friends with whom you feel you share a common "culture" and read the list to the other participants (discussion and question time will follow; powerpoint, photos and youtube optional).
Some guidelines:
-Self-define yourself: your choice has to be related to places or cultures that the people of the group share.
-Write down a list of ten things other students (and professors) on campus should know about yourself and those belonging to the chosen category in terms of social relations and situations of everyday life, misunderstandings on island, things that have already occurred.

After the guided tour a debate session on the theme of Cultural Dilemmas in the Digital Age has been organized at the Biennale ASAC library at the Giardini.

Wednesday, Oct 2nd, 5 pm, room 9A: Transcultural Game
Rules:
1. Form a group with friends with whom you feel you share a common "culture".

3. Write down a list of ten things other students (and professors) on campus should know about yourself and those belonging to the chosen category in terms of social relations and situations of everyday life, misunderstandings on island, things that have already occurred.
4. Come on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2nd and read the list to the other participants (discussion and question time will follow; powerpoint, photos and youtube optional).
Once you form a group (can also be of two people) please send an e-mail with the chosen name to professor Luca Pes: luca.pes@univiu.org

Seminars and discussions organized by VIU professors and a guided tour through the national pavillions: partecipation to this activity will be considered compulsory for the course:
-"Globalization and Cultural Heritage" as rescheduled class for Dec. 3 (class cancelled by Prof. Bernardi)
-"Digital Cities and Cartographic Imagination" by Prof. Szabo
If you would like to participate, please sign in at the Front Office by Mon 30th at 1 pm.
The meeting point is at 10.00 am at the Biennale Entrance at Giardini: entrance pass is free and valid for 3 days (Oct 4, 5, 6). We remind you once more that if you sign in and you do not show up to collect the entrance pass you will have to refund the cost (20 €).
