For the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy course to be held in Italy from November 6 to November 20, Venice International University and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) decided to design the agenda which is mostly devoted to site visits and case studies.
In Rome the delegation will visit ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, which is specialized in concentrating solar power.
The participants will learn that it is possible to produce electric energy from the sun also during the night and in cloudy days thanks to a heat accumulation system.
In Venice, the planned site visit will be organised to Veritas S.p.A:, the Integrated Waste Treatment Plant in Fusina, The integrated center includes a thermodestruction plant and a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) production plant.
In Turin, the 39 participants will visit Iride Energia, a cogeneration plant in Moncalieri.
The theoretical foundations for dealing with these practical aspects have already been focused on during the introductory course that participants attended in China last October and will be strengthened with the lecturing sessions of the present advanced Italian training. |
