Venice International University has a great interest in contemporary art. Artistic processes combine ideas, suggestions, influences and creative thinking, re-contextualising them into something completely new.

Artistic creativity can be a first step towards new training methods, where theory is combined with practical creativity and the semantics of art, providing opportunities to engage and unify, through the discovery of new visions and ideas.
VIU encourages contemporary art practice in order to pursue research based not only on numbers and statistics but also on human and artistic implications.

	Biennale Art on the Island of San Servolo. 52nd International Art Exhibition Collateral Events On the occasion of the 52nd Biennale Art Exhibition, some collateral events will take place on the Island of San Servolo. The opening will take place on June 7 at 5.00 pm.
	The Third Paradise: Michelangelo Pistoletto In 2005, VIU teamed up with artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, his Cittadellarte Foundation and curator Achille Bonito Oliva, producing Inner Island: the Art of Survival, an event where artistic research was linked with an effort to inspire responsible change in society through creative ideas and projects.
	VIULife: Billboards In 2006, to celebrate its tenth anniversary, VIU asked Boris Missirkov and Georgi Bogdanov to interact with students, researchers, professors and staff, involving them in an experience of creativity. The result is a series of giant images, depicting the university life and decorating VIU spaces.
	Art on Campus Art is a tangible presence at VIU and works by important international artists like Arnaldo Pomodoro, Fabrizio Plessi, Sandro Chia and Kan Yasuda permanently dialogue with the Island’s spaces.
