Academic Programs and Activities

Venice International University activities fall in to 7 main areas:

	The School offers an innovative and challenging opportunity for students who excel academically. Students from VIU's member universities can participate in Semester Programs, Intensive Seminars and Summer Programs that blend cross-disciplinary and disciplinary courses in Humanities and Social Sciences.
	The School for Advanced Studies in Venice was founded in 2003 by Venice International University, Università Ca' Foscari, Università Iuav and Fondazione di Venezia. The School offers PhD Programs and Graduate seminars.
	VIU has three research centers whose activities focus on Innovation and Competitiveness in the Global Economy; Environmental Management and Sustainable Development; Subsidiarity and Development.
	VIU also carries out research in many Projects which are financed by the European Commission, Italian Ministries and/or local government. These projects are connected to the research centers.
	VIU offers several ongoing programs in collaboration with other partners.
	Artistic creativity can be a first step toards new training methods, where theory is combined with practical creativity and the semantics of art, providing opportunities to engage and unify, through the discovery of new visios and ideas. Works by several acclaimed international artists are installed at VIU.
	VIU hosts a number of academic and research conferences every year.
