Fall 2007 Semester Program - registration now open: Registration is now open for the Fall 2007 semester program of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Students from all VIU member universities are eligible to apply. Courses commence September 10, 2007. Registration closes September 14, 2007.
VIULIFE projects stimulate the creativity of students: The goal of the VIULIFE projects is to stimulate the creativity of students and to help them understand Venice as a creative and contemporary city, while encouraging integration among students of the member universities. The creative projects are an excellent opportunity for university students to take part in an original and stimulating creative experience.

Italy Through the Lens of Mobile Technologies - Only Planet Nokia workshop for students of School of Humanities and Social Sciences: Art and creativity are cornerstones of Italian culture. This is seen in Italy’s rich cultural heritage and also in the business sector where Italian companies are leaders in design and fashion. The aim of this important workshop developed with Nokia is to find new ways of narrating Italian Creativity and Contemporary Culture through photo and video capture using mobile technologies.
VIU's Joint Undergraduate Program has been developed into the School of Humanities and Social Sciences: The Joint Undergraduate Program has been developed into the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The activities of the School include Semester Programs, Intensive Seminars and Summer Programs. Today's globalized world needs flexible minds, able to move across disciplines, capable of tackling contemporary challenges with innovative humanistic approaches, respecting diversity, understanding, communicating and working with people from other cultures. VIU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences provides a response in this direction.
Venice: Impressions from near and far. Photo Competition: The goal of this competition is to encourage students to analyze and reflect upon Venice and Globalization through images, shooting photographs which do not have to simply portray a situation, but have to create an intellectual process which can convey meaning and information about the deep links and relationships between Venice and Globalization.
Freshman's Fair - Inauguration of Fall 2006 semester: Thursday, September 16, 4pm. During the event professors teaching in the Fall will present their courses. Guests will have the opportuntity to meet professors, staff and students afterwards at an informal reception.
Fall semester starts on September 11, registration for undergraduate courses still open: The Fall 2006 semester of the Joint Undergraduate Program gets underway on September 11 when seventy international students begin orientation week at VIU. The semester will be officially opened on Thursday, September 14 at 4.30 pm when the professors teaching in the Fall will present their courses.

Admission open for Summer School in Venetian Cultural Studies: Venice International University (VIU) is now accepting applications for a new summer program in Venetian Cultural Studies. The program is intended for undergraduate students with an interest in Venice, History, History of art and architecture or English and American literature related to Venice.
VIU TOOLS - VIU LIFE project: VIU TOOLS is a continuation of the VIU LIFE project that started in the Fall 2005 semester with the work of two photographic artists who created 12 photographs of VIU people. For the Spring 2006 semester VIU is promoting a t-shirt design competition with workshops held by design professionals from Venice Cube.

Inauguration of Fall 2007 semester program and presentation of catalog of the project Nokia Only Planet: Innovating through Empathy, September 6, 2007: On September 6, 2007 the Fall semester of the School was inaugurated by Dean Stefano Micelli. The professors who are teaching at VIU for the Fall semester presented their courses to 70 students from the member universities.
October 5, 2007. VIULIFE: Islands of Creativity creative project begins: This creative project aims at involving VIU students in discovering hidden traits of Venice, going beyond the postcard image of the touristic side of the city. In particular, the objective is to unfold the new creative vogue in Venice. The most interesting part of this new creative movement is not developing within the very heart of Venice but on the islands that surround the City. Giudecca, Certosa, Murano are re-inventing themselves and investing in innovation and are the places where creativity is taking place.
