Biotechnology researches: one of the most important expressions of technological progress; legally protected through patents; need to have efficient liability systems to avoid having risky or dangerous biotechnological innovations awarded with patents. Industry waste and water resources: waste and water regulation in Europe and in Italy, focusing on urban waste water treatment; main directives such as Integrated Pollution and Prevention Control Directive and the Water Framework Directive, together with a more specific explanation of waste generation, collection, reuse, transfer and treatment in process industries.
