Sustainable Urban Development and Ecobuilding
Urban areas are key places for sustainable development. Ecobuilding links the key aspects of sustainable urban development with energy efficiency.
The aim of this research is to discuss the needs of both urban development and nature and a possible way to balance them, so that cities and other buildings do not overexploit, overcome or destroy the limited resources provided by the Earth. A way to obtain these results is to find new solutions in building technologies: different materials, energy technologies to avoid heat dispersion or to improve energy efficiency and savings. At the same time more attention must be given to urban development, considering how population is growing and the consequent need for housing.
The main objectives of the research are:
To identify urban sustainability issues.
To analyze urban sustainable policies.
To explore new solutions in building technologies improving energy efficiency and savings, avoiding heat dispersion and offering at the same time better life conditions.
Topics of special interest: ecobuilding, energy efficiency, participatory approach.
