EMS 2007. Introduction to Entrepreneurship

The Euro-Mediterranean School 2007 “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” course, organized by ICeSD, took place from September 17 to October 12, 2007 at VIU's campus on San Servolo Island. |
The course, with restricted admission, was directed at 40 young graduates - 30 from the ten extra-European Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, West Bank and Gaza Strip, Syria, Tunisia) and 10 from Italy - having at least a two-year work's experience in either a company or, if coming from the public sector, in the promotion and internationalization of firms.
The course contents had been specially defined by a workgroup coordinated by ALTIS - Alta Scuola Impresa e Società (Postgraduate School Business and Society) of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. The course included traditional lectures, seminars, practical training and experts testimonials in the following four fields:
The Economy of the Mediterranean countries and their relationship with the EU and Italy
Tourism Economics
The Italian Economic System and the industrial districts
Elements of international law
Fiscal implications relating to international trade
Banking systems
Financial intermediation, venture capital and development issues
Euromed Partnership Fund
Culture and dynamics of entrepreneurship
Business plan formulation and analysis
Internationalization and marketing strategies
Logistics and distribution
Problems and opportunities associated with interculturality and cross-cultural communication development
Faculty
The professors involved in the course came from: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, "L’Orientale" University of Naples, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Venice International University, Formaper and other universities and qualified training agencies
