| Sinking and Shrinking Cities: New Orleans and Venice. Second appointment in the VIU Lectures series, December 7, 2006 Berndt Ostendorf is a professor of North American Cultural studies at LMU whose recent research focuses on the culture and politics on New Orleans. He will be joined by discussant Corrado Clini, who is Director General of the Environmental Research and Development division of the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea. | VIU signs cooperation agreement with the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) VIU and ICE have signed a cooperation agreement to carry out research and organize training on the main challenges posed by the emerging global economy. This agreement consolidates the ties between ICE and VIU which already led to the organization in 2006 of the program in Business Internationalization Processes for graduate students with knowledge of oriental languages. | TEN Center Training on Vehicle Emission Control, December 9-22, 2006 TEN Center in cooperation with Thetis will host a delegation from the Beijing Public Transportation Group for a training program on Vehicle Emission Control. The delegation will visit companies and agencies responsible for traffic management and emissions reduction in Rome, Milan, Turin and Bologna.
