Venice International University is co-organizer of the Try Freedom. Rewriting Rights in/through Postcolonial Cultures conference which will take place at VIU March 25-29, 2008. It is the 13th triennial conference of EACLALS, the European branch of the Association for Commonwealth Language and Literature Studies. Deadline for call for papers: September 1, 2007

Events Freshman's Fair - Inauguration of Fall 2007 semester and presentation of catalog of the Nokia Only Planet. Innovating through Empathy project
During the event professors teaching in the Fall will present their courses. At the event VIU researchers will present the Nokia Only Planet: Innovating through Empathy catalog, published by Marsilio Editore. The creative project was conducted during the Spring 2007 semester and involved international and local students in a video workshop using mobile technologies. Guests will have the opportunity to meet professors, staff and students afterwards at an informal reception.
