TeDIS
TeDIS carries out applied research activities on innovation and competitiveness of enterprises and SMEs in the industrial districts. TeDIS Center is conceived as:
• A research context, being active partner with respect to specific requests coming from firms and institutions. The center promotes studies and researches under the scientific supervision of an international steering committee;
• A cultural and training context, by proposing annual events and meetings.
The reputation of the center has been growing since its launch. During the Cernobbio conference 2002, an important public event held annually in Italy, European Commissioner Liikanen, in charge of Innovation Policy, has complimented TeDIS's research activity and underlined its relevance in European scenario.
TeDIS has received funds from the local government, the Italian Research Ministry, the Italian Ministry for Innovation, Formez, the European Commission and United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). Large companies that have supported its research activity from the beginning have continued to provide a fundamental part of the annual research budget. Among these firms present and past supporters are Formula, HP, Lotus, SAP, Sun Microsystems, Telecom Italia, and TIM. Among the others, joint research projects have been developed with the Center on Globalization, Governance and Competitiveness of the Duke University and the research center of Banca Intesa (now Intesa-San Paolo).
