NATCAMP

Document Actions
Tuesday December 18, 2:30 p.m., Venice International University, Island of San Servolo. A Barcamp to discuss the evolution of formative processes in universities since the diffusion of web 2.0

What will the new teaching role of universities be in the light of the diffusion of web 2.0 technologies (blog, wiki, facebook, linkedin, ecc.)?
What will the role of students become, now that they are increasingly active in launching new spaces for network interaction (community)?

These two themes will be the objects of an informal discussion - at the barcamp - organized by Venice International University.
It will not be a traditional seminar. The Natcamp will focus on the most promising initiatives for network learning launched in the last two years by students from the universities of Padua and Venice. The creators themselves will be presenting their work to a panel of university researchers and professors, private company managers and local administration officials. The aim will be a dynamic and open discussion on a crucial aspect of our society and our economic growth: learning.

During the course of the last two years, initiatives on this topic have multiplied. Increasingly more university courses have started to use web 2.0 technologies as an integral part of their formative process, and especially increasingly large numbers of students self-organize in running blogs and communities on themes of interest for their formation. The speed at which these initiatives are created and their quality are surprising.

The Natcamp intends to be an occasion to focus on these novel initiatives and to build a first common reference with the help of teachers and students in order to enable future initiatives of network learning.
